A note from us

Come celebrate the barn with us

Bonjour,

Harvest is keeping us busy, the cellar is full of life, and our barn above Seneca Lake is open and already welcoming guests. Now we want to celebrate it properly, with you.

On Saturday, October 24, we are opening the doors wide: the people of Hector, our friends at the Watkins Glen Area Chamber of Commerce, our members, and everyone who has followed this story. Tell us you are coming, and we will send your invitation.

À bientôt,
Céline & Sébastien

The oak frame of the barn standing again above Seneca Lake.

The barn

An oak frame from 1487

The oaks above your head were felled in Champagne in the winter of 1487. Carpenters took the frame apart and raised it again once in France, then it crossed the Atlantic piece by piece and went up a third time here, above Seneca Lake.

Every joint is a tenon, a mortise, and an oak peg. Come and look up: the carpenters’ marks are still there.
